We're really excited here to be launching our brand new single Really Live... we love it so much that we wanted everyone in the world to have it... so everyone in the world can if they like! We're also in the middle of our Media Rules Tour so hopefully we'll catch you on one of those dates... check the gig listings for that.

... and what a year it has been! We've had a fab time, done some crazy things and best of all met some amazing people... some of which are here... we miss you girlies!

So here's the lowdown... the highlights of 2009!

The 'jazzy' girls at Barnabus, Lark in the park, Rach trying to fill her tyres with air for 2 hours, 1st Lantern gig with Beth, Spring Harvest, Lady Gaga-Full Blast- In a van on the way for curry, The surprise gig in our worst clothes, The gig with a dog on the stage, Working with Rosie Hardy, Being chased by some bulls, Going fully clothed into a lake, Shopping bags full of Lush and goodies, Writing our new songs, Playing at Space, Wright Robinson College, We go all gangsta and call ourselves new names... Scotstar, B:Dizzle and M:Tubs- (but not in public), Beth saying accidentally innappropriate things on Cross Rhythms radio, being in the Sheffield Star and Mandy going out to buy 5 copies dressed in exactly the same as what she wore in the picture, Riding a go kart, Teaching I'm the girl I want to be' seminars all over the country and seeing lives change, Radiate and coming out to hoards of people with fireworks going off over our heads, 'I'm the polar bear I want to be' late night idea for the new clothing range :P, 'Live Lounge' style accoustic radio interview, Adoration Fest, Saying bye to Rach :(, GoldDigger gets an office, Ikea -and Beth and Mandy build the flat pack quite comically, Recording where Byan Adams wrote 'Baby when you're gone' and going on and on about sitting on the same chair, Hitting the road with Sean from the Gentlemen for some acoustic gigs, Sean sits quietly in the back while Beth and Mandy discuss and debate fittest member of all the boy bands we can think of from Five to JLS... (but we didn't discuss the Gentlemen as Sean might have found that awkward!), Krispy Kreme office delivery, Buzz United, Secret facebook groups to plan our gig outfits, Girls Aloud LOUD in the car, Supporting Philippa Hanna in her Taste album launch... what a wicked album!, Playing with the crazy Roo Walker, late night writing sessions, even later night recording sessions, Joshua Project, Video blogging, Having over 700 facebook fans, Girls courses with the Greenhill, Meadowhead, Steelroots, Darnall and Tidewell girlies, Leaf gig where the Wombats might have been there, Writing for G:Mag and being agony aunts for Grid (out March 2010) sharing our wisdom with the world! Many high fives when good things happen, Getting enough money to buy IN EAR MONITORS (yes you may be surprised that we ARE techy geeks and that IS exciting) The 12 event, Tea and toast and SO MUCH MORE including eating toffees in the office and planning an even crazier 2010!!!

Happy Christmas!!

1st of December! Yay for Christmas time... We're very excited! We've had a busy but awesome few weeks as we've had some great gigs around the north and have been loving the girls course we're running at the moment in Greenhill, Sheffield. Its been weird getting used to hitting the road just the two of us- but we're getting use to it and we've loved performing some brand new material.

Something new you may have noticed to keep you more up to date than ever is our weekly news blog - not only will be updating you here regularly you can also watch us rambling on in the media section as we upload a short video diary each week just to let you know whats happening! Do message us in the forum of there's anything you'd like to ask and we may feature it one week!

The Media Rules Tour kicks off the new year. From January - March we'll be touring the UK with this exclusive show. If you want us near you get you there are still dates to be booked up. We're doing a great offer so email bookings@golddigger.org.uk or if you're in a youth group then tell your youth leader to get in touch and we can get all the info to them and we may get to visit your event!

Welcome to the new phase

After 4 and a half years in GoldDigger, Rachel has felt God’s call to move on into other ministries. Rach is currently out in Tenerife working with an organization called “The Living Room” and using all her skills that she’s developed in GoldDigger to work with vulnerable women out there. Rachel said,

“I've loved being in GoldDigger and being part of seeing the ministry develop into what it is today. It’s been a privilege to be a part of what God is doing in young peoples lives and seeing them start to believe in themselves and who they were made to be. The girls course is incredible and I will always be honoured to have been a part of it...and to my GoldDigger Girlies I leave to carry on the work to new places, I will miss you so much and pray God continues to bless, favour and complete the work he has begun.”

We’re really excited for Rach and all the things that God’s got planned for her and are so thankful for everything she’s done for GoldDigger in the last few years. We love her very much and look forward to catching up for a good GoldDigger cup of tea with her when she comes back to visit us. We played our last acoustic gig with Rachel at the Lantern Theatre in Sheffield on the 6th November and were privileged to have Claire, who first started GoldDigger with Rach and Mandy there too. It’s incredible to see the journey that God has taken GoldDigger on over the last 4 and a half years, and so we’re really excited to be starting the new chapter in the GoldDigger story TODAY.
Over the last 9 months or so, GoldDigger has really evolved musically, investing in a harder pop rock sound, embracing its electronica roots and crafting some really good songs. In 2010, fronted by Mandy and Beth as a duo, GoldDigger will be touring the country with our new LIVE BAND plus hitting the road to deliver more schools days, teaching conferences, girls courses and much much more. Also check out our cheeky sale ... nice and early for Christmas shopping with loads of big discounts to celebrate all the new things going on here!

Hey!!!

Well welcome to our October news, direct from the new home of GoldDigger- GoldDigger HQ in Sheffield! Here we are in our new office….

Now you might notice there’s only two of us, you observant bunch! Rach is currently over in Tenerife (it’s alright for some ey?!) spending some time with the guys at The Living Room over there, and we’re really excited about all the things she’s going to be getting up to and learning over there.
But that doesn’t mean things stop over here in the UK, ohhhhh no! We’re working at super speed and making sure that we’re going to be in your schools, churches, youth clubs, magazines and ipod’s over the next few months.

Coming up this week is the start of our new girls course at Greenhill Methodist and we’ll be appearing at Buzz United this Friday at the Megacentre in Sheffield- hope to see you there!! Plus we’ve been putting the final touches to THREE new songs, which we promise, will rock your worlds!! GoldDigger’s getting a whole new sound and you’ll LOVE it!! Mandy’s been beavering away to make sure our girls course is at it’s very very best in the last few weeks, whilst I’ve had to be dressing up all posh to meet with lots and lots of heads of PSHCE and RE across Sheffield schools who all can’t wait to get GoldDigger into YOUR school!

We’re really excited about the next few months and will be cropping up in Essex, Bradford, Liverpool and Sheffield in the next few weeks… AND on Cross Rhythms radio with an exclusive live performance for all of you who can’t make it to one of our shows soon!!

So welcome to September! We are really excited this month has arrived ... you see WE don't have to go to school ;D Beth is moving over TODAY to join us in our Sheffield GoldDigger base so instead of chatting inbetween gigs over Skype we can be all together!

We're really excited to to be planning a tour this year which we're keeping back the all important details .. however we'll tell you exclusively we will be hitting the road with of the biggest and best Christian rock groups in the UK at the moment ... and its going to be brilliantly crazy!

This week we are also going to to be moving into an office. It will be our very own GoldDiger land where we'll be working at all the behind the scenes stuff that bands have to do, writing music, organising our girls courses and planning the tour etc. We're most excited about choosing some nice wallpaper, and of course visiting Ikea and getting side tracked in the cafe drinking them out of free refills. We'll post you up a picture when we're in!

We've also just posted a brand new article in the articles section and do keep in touch with us on the forum – there's new stuff going on there every day and if you want our tour to make a stop near you make sure you get the name of your town or city on there in the gigs section!

Hello and welcome to our new sparkly and amazing website! We've been beavering away (with our amazing web designer Ben) for the last few months to create this haven of all things GoldDigger and so we're very very excited that you can finally experience the new and improved www.golddigger.org.uk!!
With more information than ever before about how GoldDigger can work in your schools, youth clubs, churches, festivals, mum's back garden, and new videos, songs and photos in the media section, we hope you enjoy exploring our new site.

My favourite new part is probably the new "backstage" section where you can get up close and personal with us GoldDigger girls and keep up to date with everything that's happening in GoldDigger land- make sure you check in regularly to see what we've been up to and if we're playing near you soon!!

Our forum has also had a mini facelift (of the digital and non-surgical kind) so leave us a message telling us what you think of the new website and quiz us in the new "Ask GoldDigger" section.... maybe you've always wanted to know Mandy's favourite fruit or what Rachel would do if she wasn't in GoldDigger.... or my shoe size (it's a 4 by the way- i have tiny feet!) ANYTHING you like, quiz us over in the forum!!

I love making new things... Beth and Rachel get really excited about gigs - I'm the one who will be so excited that i can't sleep if we're recording a new song, or designing something new. So that makes this week and exciting week for me. We've been putting the finishing touches to the new website - (hope you're enjoying it!) as well as writing new music and in a couple of days (literally a few hours before she flies off to the States) we've got a photoshoot squeezed with the amazingly talented Rosie Hardy! Check out her work on Flickr - you'll be stunned. So, from what we've seen of her work, we could well get wet sitting in a lake, be covered in paint, space hop down mountains and who knows what else but its sure to be a crazy day! We'll keep you posted and make sure we get some video footage to show you what it was like.

Keep coming back to check the site here- we love it - there's so much more to see and do now and we're adding to it all the time. Oh and though we do see some of the messages you send through - we are really sorry we can't see all of them or reply to them but WILL reply to posts on the forum- which is now even simpler to use!

Emotional War

We're excited to have a brand new single - the first of our brand new line up! Emotional War is a great track and we hope you enjoy the vibe as well as it maybe helping you through some annoying boy/girl trouble ;)

We wrote this song based out of our own experience of various emotional wars we have been though with relationships and know that everyone goes through it; really liking someone who doesn't like you, someone liking you that you don't like at all, being dumped, being ignored, being totally led on, being cheated on, meaningless flirting being taken the wrong way and being meaninglessly flirted with and finding out it can totally mess with your head, the person you fancy always fancies your best friend etc etc.

I know I spent so long always fancying the guys who blatently said they did not want a relationship with anyone - and the annoyingly competitive side of me would always want the challenge of being the one to change them. Why did I bother? I always ended up getting upset and feeling rejected. 'Emotional War' is about how we just don't need to waste our time trying to change people to make them like us when they don't - what is the point? Our hearts are emotional, irrational sometimes, and need a bit of guarding - thats our job to do :) and its a good one because we can let ourselves hold out for 'the best' when we don't settle for 'the ok'.
